
Brian Lang
Clarinet and Saxophone
Brian Lang hails from Columbus, Ohio and is a versatile, multiple woodwind performer and educator. Brian has spent the better part of the last five years touring the world with various shows including most recently: The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Color Purple National Tour, In the Mood: A 1940’s Swing Revue National Tour, and Elf: The Musical National Tour.
Brian has performed at high profile venues in many countries including the Maison Symphonique in Montreal, Canada as part of the 2016 Montreal Jazz Festival as well as Festival Hall in Osaka, Japan, and Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Japan. In January 2019, Brian had the honor to perform for the Ohio Governor’s Inauguration Ball at the Ohio Statehouse. In June 2019, he also performed at the US embassy in Paris, France at event co-produced by Disney commemorating the anniversary of the Apollo missions.
Brian has extensive experience teaching private lessons, jazz history, jazz combos, and music theory at his own home studio, as well as the Toledo School for the Arts and Terra State Community College. As an educator, he has a utilitarian approach, giving students the basic technique they need to establish their craft and gain the skills they need to find their voice as an artist. As a woodwind doubler and performer in multiple styles of music, he understands the importance of having an organized routine in developing the desired skills to achieve short and long term goals.
