Nicholas Young is a double bass teacher and performer based in Columbus, Ohio. As a teacher, he has coached the bass sections of the Columbus Chamber Strings Youth Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra. For the past two summers, he has been a staff member at Peabody Bass Works teaching private lessons and coaching chamber music groups alongside some of the finest players and teachers in the country. As a performer, he can be seen performing with groups including the Lima Symphony, Lansing Symphony, and Newark-Granville Symphony.
Nicholas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Bowling Green State University studying with Robert Rohwer and a Master’s degree in String Pedagogy from The Ohio State University. He has additionally studied with Detroit Symphony Principal Bass Kevin Brown.
